Dr. Monty Dunn is a board-certified anesthesiologist who has been a trusted member of the Bay Area Plastic Surgery team since 2017. He brings more than 25 years of experience to every procedure in our accredited surgical suite. Patients and colleagues value his calm, reassuring presence and his commitment to a safe, comfortable surgical experience.
Dr. Dunn graduated with the highest honors in chemistry from UCLA and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). His training is unusually broad. He completed a residency in general surgery at UCSF, then a residency in anesthesiology there, and also served as an emergency room physician at Kaiser Permanente. That surgical and emergency background gives him a deep understanding of the operating room and of every patient’s needs. He has been certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology since 2001. Over his career he has cared for patients at leading Bay Area institutions, including UCSF, Alta Bates Medical Center and San Francisco Surgery Center, with a particular focus on aesthetic and plastic surgery.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Dunn is an avid world traveler who loves discovering wonderful food wherever his journeys take him. He enjoys socializing with friends, photography and staying active on the tennis court.
