Eddie Garcia, CST

Eddie Garcia has spent more than 30 years in the operating room, and since 2020 he has been the person beside Dr. Leonard W. Gray for facelift, eyelid, breast, and body surgery. Patients do not always see him, but he is the one setting up the room, keeping the field sterile, and making sure the case moves the way Dr. Gray expects.

Before Bay Area Plastic Surgery, Eddie spent more than a decade at UCSF Medical Center and helped open eye surgical services at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Cataract, cornea, oculoplastics, and glaucoma are home territory for him, which is part of why eyelid surgery feels familiar in his hands. In 2003 he was named Preceptor of the Year for teaching coworkers and medical students the same careful habits he still uses.

When he is not in the operating room, Eddie is in the water. He surfs in Hawaii and Santa Barbara, then comes back to good friends, a chocolate donut, and the team he calls family at Bay Area Plastic Surgery.
